August is finally here! Earlier this month, Mahindra surprised us with the earlier-than-expected launch of the Scorpio N Facelift. And yesterday, we had another teaser revealed by the Indian automaker. Yet again, it’s a Scorpio, but this time in one of its most unique avatars. Yes, we are talking about Mahindra’s Scorpio N-based lifestyle pickup, the Scorpio N Pick-up truck. And here is everything you need to know before its launch tomorrow.
Mahindra Scorpio N-Based Pickup Teased!
This concept is not new to us. Mahindra already used to sell the Gateways back in the day. Also, following the tradition of launching new models on India’s Independence Day, the automaker already showcased the Scorpio N-based pickup concept in 2023. The major highlight of the teaser remains the announcement of the unveiling date of this unique Scorpio N pickup. What else do we know about this upcoming Mahindra?
Exteriors- Mahindra Scorpio N-Based Pickup
So, what should you expect from the new Mahindra pickup? Think bolder styling than that of the Scorpio N, a proper double-cab layout, and a large cargo bed. Even though it is expected to share a similar ladder-on-frame platform as that of the Scorpio N, this pickup is expected to be longer. There have been multiple test mule sightings across the country indicating this. The front gets a large upright grille. It carries Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo. The headlights are slimmer and look more modern. C-shaped LED DRLs are expected to surround the headlamp units. At the rear, the pickup gets vertically positioned LED tail lamps. The tailgate features large Mahindra lettering. The overall design looks rugged but not overly utilitarian.
Interiors & Features-
As mentioned earlier, this is not going to be a particularly commercial pickup from Mahindra. That being said, the teaser also supports this statement, as it offers a subtle hint of the feature-rich interiors of this new Mahindra. Other features are expected to be wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and ventilated, power-adjustable front seats. Maneuvering a truck of these dimensions can be tricky, which is why Mahindra has integrated an advanced camera setup visible in the teaser, rumoured to be a comprehensive 360-degree camera. To top it off, top-spec variants will likely prioritize highway safety with Level-2 ADAS and a built-in driver drowsiness-monitoring system.
Powertrain- Mahindra Scorpio N-Based Pickup
While Mahindra is keeping the final spec sheet under wraps until the official reveal, the upcoming lifestyle truck is heavily anticipated to borrow its mechanical backbone directly from its SUV sibling. Under the hood, the heavy lifter will almost certainly be the tried-and-tested 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. In its current Scorpio N tuning, this powerhouse churns out a robust 173 bhp and up to 400 Nm of torque, driving power through either a crisp 6-speed manual or a smooth 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
Off-roading Capabilities
Crucial to its international ambitions, the truck will come equipped with Mahindra’s signature 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system, packing the necessary low-range grunt and terrain modes to handle demanding global off-road markets. While the SUV’s potent 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor remains a strong option for select overseas regions, the torque-heavy mHawk diesel will undoubtedly lead the charge at launch, perfectly aligning with the high-payload and utility demands expected of a premium pickup.
Expected Positioning & Pricing
Mahindra has teased the production-spec Scorpio-based pickup with a “Born for a Bigger World” campaign, confirming a global debut on August 14, 2026. The new pickup aims to compete in the lifestyle truck segment by combining rugged utility with modern SUV comfort, potentially positioning it as a competitor to the Toyota Hilux. This new pickup is expected to be priced between Rs 27 lakh and Rs 35 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
