Interiors & Features
You might think that under the skin, this is the same old Brezza with some cosmetic changes! But we are happy to tell you that you might be wrong. While it does get a premium cabin upgrade featuring a larger infotainment screen, ventilated seats, a wireless charger with a cooling option, and customizable ambient lighting, the real magic happens beneath the surface. Maruti has completely transformed the SUV’s practicality by introducing an innovative underbody CNG technology. By clever engineering of the chassis, the storage tanks are tucked away safely beneath the floor, clearing up a massive, highly usable 328-litre boot space that puts old CNG compromises to rest.
Safety
As we all know, the automaker has been extensively working to improve the safety of its cars, and the Brezza Facelift is no different. Over the 4-star safety rating of the pre-facelift version, the updated versions also bring in a 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP. With 30.41 points out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 43 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection. Safety features include a 360-degree parking camera, 6-airbags (standard), TPMS, additional front parking sensors, blind spot warning, and much more.
Powertrain
The most exciting news, however, lies under the hood. Moving past simple cosmetic tweaks on its proven Global TECT platform, Maruti has finally gifted the Brezza a heart transplant: the enthusiast-favorite 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Fronx. While its output of 107 bhp and 170 Nm of torque might look like a modest 6 bhp gain over the older 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine’s 101 bhp and 140 Nm, the real-world difference is night and day. The massive torque injection delivers a thrilling mid-range surge with virtually zero turbo lag, completely fixing the old engine’s flat performance.
To complement this new turbo-petrol motor, driving enthusiasts get a slick new 6-speed manual gearbox to row through the gears. However, Maruti has structured the lineup with distinct choices depending on Indian consumer needs. If you prefer a hassle-free drive, the smooth 6-speed automatic transmission remains exclusively paired with the older 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. Similarly, the ultra-frugal, space-saving underbody CNG option is also limited strictly to the 1.5-litre powertrain, making the 2026 Brezza lineup a perfect split between effortless efficiency and punchy performance.
Pricing & Rivals
With the introduction of the smaller engine, Maruti is expected to save on taxation. That being said, the compact SUV is priced between Rs 8.70 lakh and Rs 13.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With better pricing and additional features, the 2026 Brezza is set to take on rivals like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra 3XO, Hyundai Venue and Skoda Kylaq.
